Learning while making a difference
Tuva knew she wanted a career where she could travel, work with her hands and keep learning. Training as a marine engineer gave her that opportunity.
Aboard the Africa Mercy®, she could develop those skills while contributing to something much bigger.
If you have a job where you keep learning, it keeps the job interesting.
From watching to becoming part of it
Tuva first heard about Mercy Ships on television when she was just six years old. Years later, a Mercy Ships volunteer visited her school.
This time, she could see how her own developing skills could have a place aboard.
“It’s amazing and it feels good to be part of that.”
Could your engineering journey start here?
You don't need to know everything before you can contribute.
Engine cadets and other technical professionals learn alongside experienced crew while helping keep the ship, and the hospital inside it, safe and operational.
For Tuva, it is a chance to build a career while being part of a mission she first discovered as a child.
